Onboard Monitoring and ITS

Monitoring of the fleet, services, and intelligent transport systems.
Real-time vehicle localization and service status monitoring.
Our constant close collaboration with transport companies has allowed us to design and develop a new generation of intelligent transport systems, providing company managers with a tool for more efficient, safe, and functional fleet management.
Our web-based solution, accessible from any browser, provides a tool for monitoring the fleet’s service status. It offers information on vehicle positioning and condition, service adherence compared to the schedule, and everything related to it.
AVL/AVM systems have an architecture based on three main blocks:
1. Operational Center
2. Onboard System
3. Communication Network.
The operational center serves as the presentation interface for the entire AVL/AVM Pluservice system and is dedicated to monitoring fleets in real-time
and certifying the services performed both in real-time and in delayed mode. The designed solution is expandable and can interface with third-party systems, given the large number of interfaces present in onboard systems (Windows or Android), both in terms of type (e.g., Ethernet, RS485, RS232, analog, digital, etc.) and quantity, combined with their CPU and RAM capabilities.
The AVM center can manage multi-operator environments, allowing for the creation of “regional” or “extended” profiles that can view the general status of the fleet and generate comprehensive reports for areas and groups of companies.
This approach ensures not only interoperability but also the confidentiality of each operator’s sensitive data.
Additionally, the center manages multiple types of services simultaneously, allowing the visualization of both urban, suburban, and Gran Turismo services.
Logbook
The system is equipped with a logbook, an essential tool for analyzing and responding to potential service disputes or anomalies. Through the Logbook, it is also possible to verify both on the map and in tabular view any day the routes and events that occurred on any vehicle.
Mandatory Connection Management
It is possible to view the status of connections set as “mandatory connections” based on the delays of both the arriving and departing trips from a specific stop.
Alarm Management
Through a dedicated sensor installed onboard the vehicle, the CAN bus, it is possible to monitor alarms and the vehicle’s status in real-time.
Onboard Navigator integrated with the Central Cartography System
The navigator can be activated by the driver as an aid to navigation. The staff performing the routes for the first time are assisted throughout the journey both visually and by voice(optional). The route drawn exactly matches what is entered into the cartographic system.
Driving style
The system provides precise indications on drivers’ driving styles – such as harsh braking, acceleration, and swerving – so that all the necessary data is available to build reward systems for virtuous drivers.
Video surveillance
Management of video surveillance on vehicles, which can be activated in real-time by the driver or central operators for the safety of passengers and onboard staff. The images can be viewed live, stored, and sent to the central office on demand.
Passenger counting
Through the passenger counting tool, it is possible to obtain precise information on the number of passengers boarding and alighting at each stop to conduct Geomarketing analyses and identify the vehicles where fare evasion is most prevalent by cross-referencing this data with the reports of validations performed.
Business Intelligence
The AVM system leverages an external Business Intelligence suite to the central system, allowing not only access to the extensive library of pre-prepared reports but also the ability to work independently by creating new reports that can draw from external data sources beyond the AVM.
